You take full ownership of the architecture powering a global commodities trading business.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role at a firm where the engineering you build directly impacts how traders operate. You are not managing people all day. You are making real architectural decisions across core trading platforms, writing code, and shaping the technical direction of systems that matter.
The firm trades commodities globally and is investing heavily in becoming an AI-first business. You’ll help shape how AI is applied across its platforms, internal tools, and engineering workflows, alongside owning the core technology that supports trading. Practical AI experience would be a plus, but strong engineering ability is the priority.
Day to day, you are leading architecture across front-office trading platforms, getting hands-on in the codebase, and driving technical decisions independently. You work closely with trading and business stakeholders, so you understand the domain deeply and build accordingly. The language is flexible, the problems are serious, and the expectation is that you own your work end to end.
This is a strong next step if you are a senior engineer ready to take on a true technical lead position without needing prior people management experience on your resume. You bring the engineering credibility, this role gives you the platform.
You will be in the office five days a week in New York City. What you bring is a background building front-office trading applications or platforms, strong hands-on coding and architecture skills, and the ability to own technical decisions independently.
