Role Overview:
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for reviewing product routers, engineering drawings, and technical requirements, and translating them into standardized Inspection Process Instructions (IPI) using an Excel-based format within JD Edwards.
This role requires strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret requirements accurately. Success will be measured based on quality and throughput of IPI documentation within defined timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review product routers, drawings, and technical specifications
- Translate engineering requirements into standardized Inspection Process Instructions (IPI)
- Develop and maintain documentation in Excel-based router formats within JD Edwards
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation through proper interpretation of requirements
- Apply Good Documentation Practices (GDP), including correct redlining, version control, and updates
- Troubleshoot ambiguities in requirements and provide practical, well-reasoned interpretations
- Work independently to manage and complete assigned deliverables within timelines
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
- 5–7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or related roles
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
- Experience with process documentation, routers, or manufacturing instructions
- Familiarity with Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
- Proficiency in Excel and engineering tools (CAD or similar)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and lead tasks/projects end-to-end
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in regulated industries (medical devices, biotech, or pharma)
- Exposure to ERP systems such as JD Edwards
