CNC Router Operator (Sign Manufacturing)

Position Summary

The CNC Router Operator is responsible for preparing, setting up, and operating CNC routing equipment to produce components for a wide range of signage products. This role requires a strong understanding of materials, tooling, and file preparation to ensure accuracy and efficiency in production.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate CNC routers to cut and shape materials such as aluminum, PVC, acrylic, and composites
• Prepare and optimize route files for production
• Set up jobs including material loading, tool selection, and machine calibration
• Read and interpret shop drawings, layouts, and production files
• Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy and clean finishes
• Maintain equipment and perform routine preventative maintenance
• Keep work area clean, organized, and safe
• Work closely with production team to meet deadlines and production schedules

Qualifications

Experience:

• 1–3 years operating CNC routers (sign industry experience strongly preferred)
• Experience with EnRoute, FlexiSign, SignLab/SignWizard, Adobe Illustrator, or similar software

Skills:

• Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and machinery
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and files
• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and efficiency
• Self-starter with strong organizational skills
• Team player with good communication

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and handle materials up to 75 lbs
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a production environment
