Job Summary

Capital One is seeking an experienced Data Modeler to design, develop, and maintain enterprise data models supporting data warehouse, analytics, and cloud-based applications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling, data governance, and financial services domains.

Required Skills

• 8 years of experience in Data Modeling and Data Architecture.
• Strong experience in Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Modeling.
• Expertise with data modeling tools such as:
• Erwin Data Modeler
• ER/Studio
• PowerDesigner
• Strong SQL skills (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Snowflake).
• Experience designing enterprise data warehouses and data marts.
• Knowledge of dimensional modeling (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema).
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with ETL tools and data integration.
• Strong understanding of Data Governance, Data Quality, Metadata Management, and Master Data Management (MDM).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather data requirements.
• Define data standards, naming conventions, and modeling best practices.
• Create and maintain enterprise data models.
• Optimize database structures for performance and scalability.
• Support data warehouse and analytics initiatives.
• Work closely with ETL developers, data engineers, and BI teams.
• Ensure compliance with data governance policies.
• Perform data analysis and impact assessments for new projects.
• Maintain data dictionaries, metadata, and documentation.
