Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll entries, and month-end/year-end close.
- Prepare, review, and maintain accurate general ledger records and reconciliations.
- Ensure timely preparation of financial statements in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Oversee fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules, accruals, and prepayments.
- Maintain internal controls and support ongoing improvements to accounting workflows.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal tax laws, including Michigan state regulations.
- Prepare and/or coordinate tax filings (sales tax, payroll tax, corporate tax), and support audits as necessary.
- Monitor legislative changes and advise leadership on financial and regulatory impacts.
- Provide financial analysis, forecasts, budgets, and regular reporting to the CEO.
- Monitor cash flow, expenditures, and profitability metrics.
- Support strategic planning with data-driven financial insights.
- oordinate closely with overseas finance and operations teams to align processes and consolidate financial data.
- Act as the primary U.S. finance point-of-contact for global leadership and external stakeholders.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and regulatory agencies.
- Support implementation and optimization of accounting and ERP systems.
- Maintain and develop accounting policies, procedures, and best practices.
Admin Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of the office, including workplace environment management, coordination of cleaning services, and monitoring of office equipment maintenance and repair requests.
- Manage the procurement, inventory, and distribution processes for office supplies, and maintain communication with relevant vendors.
- Assist with administrative-related expense reimbursements, purchase requests, and payment processes, ensuring compliance and timely completion.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA Required).
- 8 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in the software or technology industry.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, Michigan state tax laws, and corporate compliance.
- Experience managing end-to-end finance functions in a growing or multi-entity organization.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across global teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
