Sapphire Nursing at Wappingers, a Skilled Nursing Facility located in Dutchess County, New York, is looking for a clinically superb, dynamic full-time RN Unit Manager for our Rehab Unit. Ø This a Temporary Position due to Maternity Leave;
Unit Manager Responsibilities
- Maintains nursing guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
- Completes Resident care requirements by scheduling and assigning nurses and staff
- Establishes a compassionate environment by providing support to Residents and families.
- Provides information to Residents and health care team.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment.
- Maintains Resident confidence by monitoring confidential information processing.
- Maintains documentation of Resident care services.
- Maintains nursing supplies inventory
- Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams
- Develops an individualized comprehensive care plan
- Maintains timely documentation of patients
- Maintains supervision of staff and facility
- Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identities any issues that affect desired resident outcomes
- Assess, review, and maintain that daily resident care needs are met, and appropriate resident care is given.
- Address resident and staff concerns to promote quality care.
- Supervise staff nurses and CNAs to ensure their completion and quality of duties.
- Make rounds of resident rooms to observe and evaluate resident’s physical/emotional state.
- Review order and care plans.
- Provide direct nursing care as necessary.
- Perform all assigned tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Valid, current RN license.
- Must be knowledgeable of nursing practices and procedures, and/or terminology, laws, regulations, and the guidelines that pertain to long-term care.
- At least one-year experience in a supervisory capacity in a long-term care facility.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
