This position partners closely with Executive Directors, Directors of Health Services, and community leadership teams to promote quality resident care, regulatory compliance, clinical excellence, and positive resident outcomes.
The Regional Nurse Consultant serves as a subject matter expert for clinical operations and may provide interim Director of Health Services (DHS) coverage, nursing delegation, and direct clinical support as needed across assigned communities.
Frequent travel throughout Oregon and Washington is required.

Responsibilities
- Monitor and evaluate quality of care, resident outcomes, infection prevention practices, medication management, and clinical systems.
- Assist communities in maintaining compliance with state regulations, company policies, and professional nursing standards.
- Conduct routine clinical audits and assessments to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure regulatory readiness.
- Support implementation of clinical initiatives, best practices, and quality improvement programs.
- Review incident reports, investigations, resident concerns, and clinical trends to ensure appropriate follow-up and resolution.
- Assist with survey preparation, mock surveys, plans of correction, and regulatory visits. Provide clinical oversight, guidance, and support to Directors of Health Services and community leadership teams.
- Serve as Interim Director of Health Services during vacancies, leaves of absence, or periods of operational need.
- Provide day-to-day clinical leadership and oversight of nursing services while ensuring continuity of care and regulatory compliance.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and mentoring of new Directors of Health Services.
- Assist communities with staffing plans, clinical scheduling, and operational stabilization efforts.
- Serve as a Delegating Registered Nurse in accordance with applicable state regulations as needed.
- Ensure delegated nursing tasks are appropriately trained, documented, supervised, and evaluated.
- Maintain delegation records and conduct required reassessments and competency evaluations.
- Provide education and ongoing support to caregiving staff regarding delegated nursing tasks and resident care needs.
- Maintain current knowledge of Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Behavioral Health regulations in the state applicable.
- Assist communities with compliance monitoring, policy implementation, and corrective action planning.
- Participate in investigations related to resident incidents, complaints, and regulatory concerns.
- Support infection prevention and control programs and emergency preparedness efforts.
- Provide clinical training and education to Directors of Health Services, nurses, caregivers, and community leadership teams.
- Mentor clinical leaders to enhance regulatory knowledge, leadership skills, and clinical competencies.
- Assist with onboarding and development of newly hired clinical leaders.
- Collaborate with Executive Directors, Regional Operations leadership, physicians, pharmacies, therapy providers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Communicate clinical concerns, trends, and recommendations to organizational leadership.
- Foster a culture of accountability, resident-centered care, and continuous improvement.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in applicable state.
- Minimum three (3) years of nursing leadership experience in Assisted Living, Memory Care, Behavioral Health, or related senior care settings.
- Experience with state survey processes and regulatory compliance.
- Experience with nursing delegation and clinical oversight.
- Strong knowledge of resident assessments, service plans, medication management, infection prevention, and quality assurance programs.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively.
- Multi-site clinical leadership experience.
- Strong leadership and coaching abilities.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Ability to analyze clinical and regulatory data and develop action plans.
- Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical software systems.
- Ability to respond to community emergencies and provide direct clinical support when necessary.
