In this role, you will be the heart of our kitchen, ensuring our children receive the nutrition they need to grow, learn, and play in a safe, professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Meal Preparation: Prepare and serve nutritious, kid-friendly meals for breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks.
- Menu Planning: Build creative, balanced weekly menus that meet nutritional guidelines and appeal to young children.
- Kitchen Maintenance: Keep the kitchen, pantry, and dining areas clean, tidy, and compliant with health safety standards.
- Sanitation: Responsible for all dishwashing and the proper sanitization of cooking equipment.
- Food Safety: Properly label, rotate, and store leftover food and supplies to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
- Collaboration: Work professionally and effectively with teachers and administrative staff to coordinate meal times and accommodate dietary restrictions/allergies.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate who is organized, hygienic, and genuinely enjoys working in an environment centered around children.
- Experience: Previous experience working in a professional kitchen is preferred.
- Daycare Familiarity: Experience working in a childcare or school setting is a significant plus.
- Compliance: Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and meet all state licensing requirements for childcare employees.
- Skills: Ability to manage time effectively, follow recipes, and maintain a positive, professional attitude under pressure.
