JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Field Operations & Compliance Supervisor is responsible for directing and coordinating the daily activities of agricultural field crews. This position communicates daily work assignments and harvest specifications, packing instructions, including package sizes, customer specifications, special orders, quality expectations, monitors productivity and quality, and helps ensure compliance with Company policies and applicable food safety, pesticide safety, field sanitation, and workplace safety requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
· High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
· Three (3) years of agricultural field operations experience required.
· Previous supervisory experience preferred.
· Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills.
· Basic computer, tablet, mobile phone, email, and electronic-recordkeeping skills.
· Experience with Food Safety Programs and GAP required.
· Experience with Worker Protection Standard (WPS) preferred.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Direct and supervise and communicate harvest schedules, daily work activities including packaging requirements (1-pound, 2-pound, specialty packs, customer-specific orders, etc.), and production goals to Crew Leaders.
· Assist in resolving operational issues that affect harvest efficiency
· Ensure compliance with EPA Worker Protection Standard (WPS) requirements.
· Promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with Company Safety Programs and OSHA regulations.
· Report injuries, incidents, and near misses immediately and participate in accident investigations as assigned.
· Ensure employees use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
· Ensure employees have the necessary tools and equipment to perform assigned duties.
· Serve as the primary on-site food safety representative by implementing and maintaining all food safety programs and procedures
· Conduct routine domestic and H2A harvest crew inspections, pre-season risk assessments, pre-harvest inspections, etc.
· Ensure compliance with company food safety policies, Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), customer requirements and regulatory standards.
· Verify that all food safety records are completed accurately and maintained appropriately (water source inspection logs, fertilizer application logs, pesticide use reports, daily pre-operational, training records, etc.)
· Ensure that all necessary materials vital to food safety are available and adequately stocked
· Ensure proper cleaning and sanitation of harvest tools and equipment
· Report and investigate food safety incidents or potential contamination events
· Serve as the primary representative during routine 3rd party food safety audits, regulatory inspections, customer inspections/ visits.
· Coordinate required water sample collection and testing
· Maintain regular communication with the Food Safety Manager regarding: (harvest activities, food safety concerns, regulatory compliance issues, audit readiness, etc.)
· Train employees/ conduct refresher training courses as needed throughout the season.
· Promote teamwork, professionalism, and respect in the workplace.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position. The regular schedule will be established according to operational needs. Agricultural operations and harvest conditions may require early mornings, extended shifts, split schedules, weekends, holidays, and changes in reporting location. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the position.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
· Frequently walk through uneven agricultural fields.
· Stand and walk for extended periods.
· Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
· Bend, stoop, kneel, squat, climb, and reach regularly.
· Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, and dust.
· Ability to travel between ranch locations.
