Duties

• Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments, including patient history, mental status examinations, and physiological evaluations to inform diagnosis and treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications in accordance with state regulations and collaborative practice agreements, ensuring safe and effective pharmacological management.
• Provide psychotherapy and counseling services tailored to individual needs, utilizing evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop integrated treatment strategies.
• Manage patient care through electronic health record (EHR) systems like Athenahealth, documenting clinical encounters accurately and efficiently.
• Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, medication management, lifestyle modifications, and community resources.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical research projects, and staff training to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.

Experience

• Valid certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with active state licensure.
• Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations including children, geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring acute or chronic psychiatric care.
• Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such Athenahealth for medical documentation and patient management.
• Experience administering psychotropic medications along with knowledge of psychopharmacology principles.
• Familiarity with telehealth platforms to provide remote psychiatric consultations effectively.
• Background working in various healthcare settings including outpatient clinics, hospitals (Level I or Level II trauma centers preferred), inpatient units, or community mental health programs.
• Strong understanding of healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and DEA requirements for controlled substances prescribing.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
