Position Description

  • A Utility Programs Analyst II in Program Development will use analytical and project management skills to help in the development of customer facing energy-efficiency (EE), demand response (DR) and beneficial electrification (BE) programs at Santee Cooper. This role involves direct collaboration with experienced professionals to evaluate and refine our Demand Side Management (DSM) initiatives while also pioneering new, innovative offerings for our customer base. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to grow professionally within the energy sector, utilizing their strong analytical skills, financial knowledge, and project management abilities to drive the development and successful implementation of impactful customer programs.


Essential Job Tasks:

  • Uses financial, project management, and marketing tools to research, plan, develop, implement, and evaluate cost effective demand-side management programs for residential and commercial customers in order to meet corporate objectives.
  • Conducts background research on programs, analyze market and load research data, research and analyze published data from recognized energy experts, and evaluate professional advice from industry consultants regarding potential DSM programs.
  • Clearly presents takeaways from the research and suggest next steps for the development of programs based on this research.
  • Uses analytic tools to support the development of programs by determining cost projections, effective marketing concepts, participation levels, and estimated impact of the programs.
  • Assists with the development of policies, procedures, and standards for implementing programs.
  • Reports DSM program data to the appropriate stakeholders, both internal and external, by completing company reports consistently, on time, and accurately.
  • Oversees simple contracts and support senior analysts and supervision in managing complex contracts involving industry consultants, third party contractors, and data providers.
  • Provides support for budget development, analysis, and reporting, while demonstrating an extended understanding of budgeting and general ledger structures.
  • Maintains a cost-conscious approach when contributing to program development efforts.
  • Supports research, planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of marketing plans that assure cost effective DSM and customer service programs.
  • Provides input to Corporate Communications regarding marketing, advertising, and promotions through customers, media, trade allies and others in support of DSM Programs. Assist with regulatory support activities related to Santee Cooper's Integrated Resource plan.

Utility Programs Analyst I

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Finance or Math.


Compensation Information:

$53,400 - $66,730 (min. - mid.)

Utility Programs Analyst II

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Finance or Math 2 years experience.
  • Experience working for a utility desired.


Compensation Information:

$66,390 - $82,980 (min. - mid.)
