COURIER

Position Description

Responsible for providing an efficient and effective mail distribution system throughout the company for both external and internal mail as well as delivery of overnight express material. This includes ensuring retail bill payments are delivered to Treasury on time to ensure processing for revenue collection.

Essential Job Tasks

• Receives, sorts and distributes incoming and outgoing mail, interoffice mail, material samples and packages to delivery points within Santee Cooper.
• Receives overnight priority packages from vendors such as Federal Express, USPS, and UPS and delivers to receivers daily.
• Provides daily courier service to outlying areas for delivery and pick up of internal and USPS mail as well as packages, materials and coal samples which require chain of custody documentation.
• Assists with maintenance of postage meter and postal accounts to ensure adequate supply of money to process outgoing mail.
• Records are reconciled with USPS accounts and funds added when needed.
  
  

Position Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Must be able to drive large delivery van on a daily basis.
• Must be able to read and write English, perform basic math functions and operate postal equipment.
• Must have good organization, communication and customer relations skills.
• Must be familiar with using a computer which is necessary to perform daily duties.
