2026 Electrical Lineworker Scholarship

Position Description

• An opportunity to jump start a career in the electric utility industry through our Electrical Lineworker Power Associate Program.
  
  
  

What’s Included:

• Successful candidates will receive free tuition to attend the Electrical Line Worker Third Class program through a Technical College.
• Tools, materials, and safety gear needed for the program will be provided at no cost.
• Participants will receive a competitive hourly rate for the days worked during the program.
  
  
  

Program Highlights:

• Hands-on training in an outdoor training yard designed to recreate real-world line work conditions.
• Classroom instruction in electrical theory, safety procedures, and essential technical knowledge.
• Earn your Third-Class Lineman Certification upon completion.
• Gain on-the-job experience by working alongside experienced Santee Cooper line crews when not in class.
  
  
  

Location:

• The work location will be assigned based on the crew quarters closest to the selected candidates home address.
  
  
  

Position Requirements

• The scholarship applies to enrollment in the Electrical Lineworker program starting August 2026.
• Must be 18 years of age and possess a High School Diploma/GED by June 2026.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to work at heights and in outdoor conditions in all types of weather.
• Must Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and learning.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical, background check.
