Role Description
- Source sanitation contracts within a geographical territory. Sales territories typically encompass a 5-8 hour driving radius or a collection of US States. There may be travel outside a primary territory when attractive opportunities arise or a strong relationship exists
- Develop estimates for labor and chemicals for fixed price sanitation contracts
- Cultivate industry relationships and channel sales partners
- Track activities and document sales pipeline
- Provide input and feedback on marketing materials and strategy
- Facilitate new client transitions ensuring appropriate staffing, continuity, and standards for safety, documentation, and quality
- Help recruit and provide coaching and training for site managers, leads, and supervisors, as needed
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience delivering sanitation programs at food manufacturers, preferably as an outside contractor. 10 years of overall experience working in the food manufacturing industry
- Deep knowledge of the sanitation process, USDA/FDA regulatory matters, documentation, and certification schemes (SQF, BRC, FSSC 22000) in the meat, poultry, and dairy industries
- Numerous trusted relationships with decision makers at potential clients e.g. complex managers, plant managers, FSQA managers
- Experience with and affinity for long sales cycles, travel for face-to-face meetings, cold calling, and new market development
- Self-motivated, accountable and prepared to work independently in a results-driven environment
- Motor vehicle record in good standing
- Proficient computer skills; Microsoft Office products
