QUALIFICATIONS FOR A REGISTERED NURSE
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Minimum of one year of professional nursing experience in a hospital surgical suite preferred.
- Must possess a State Registered RN license.
- CPR and ACLS certification preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform general nursing care to patients. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards and company policies.
- Prepare equipment and aids physician during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
- Observe, record and report patient's condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physician.
- Greet patients and prepare them for physician examination. Screen patients for appropriate information. Complete patient history.
- Respond to and refer incoming telephone calls. Instruct patients and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.
- Maintain and review patient's records, charts and other pertinent information.
- Maintain exam rooms for necessary supplies and materials. Ensure cleanliness.
- Prepare list of medical supplies needed.
- Maintain correct inventory levels of supplies and medications.
- Develop and perform patient education.
- Complete and discuss pre-op procedures with patient.
- Give injections.
- Clean and sterilize instruments and other materials.
- Tray set-up for examination and surgical procedure.
- Maintain strictest patient confidentiality.
- May also be called upon to provide technical training and guidance to MA, LVN and perform special projects for Physician.
