Medical Assistant (UGSC)

Sante Health System is encouraging all Medical Assistants in the Fresno, CA area to apply to join our team full-time at our UroGynecology Specialty Center. In this medical assisting position, you would provide top-notch customer service both in-person and over the phone and assist our physicians with delivering primary health care to our patients.

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma/GED equivalent
• Graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants
• Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants preferred
• Bilingual Spanish is a plus

Candidates should have exceptional people and communication skills, be highly skilled in multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment, a commitment to achieving a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and a no-task-too-small approach to the work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• May perform selected nursing and administrative duties, such as referrals and authorizations.
• Prepare patients for examination and treatment. Take patient vital signs.
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies.
• Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization.
• Assist physicians in preparing for minor surgeries and give injections
• Screen telephone calls for referral to physician or provider.
• Relay provider communications to patients by phone or mail.
• Provide general information on departmental policies and procedures.
• Maintain patient files, records and other information.
• Compile and condense technical and statistical data for reports and records.
• Attend required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
• Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Follow all MA competencies.
• Light housekeeping.
