Eligibility Coordinator (CVWHA)

Sante Health System is seeking to hire an Eligibility Coordinator to join our medical office team at Central Valley Women's Health Associates (CVWHA) in the Fresno, CA area. This position is responsible for communicating with Plans regarding eligibility verification and processing authorization requests along with communicating authorization approvals and denials to providers, schedulers, and billing office. This position also requires data entry of authorization requests.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED equivalent required.
• Minimum one year work experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
• Experience with medical terminology and various insurance products and requirements desirable.
• Computer experience required.
  
  

Candidates should have exceptional people and communication skills, be highly skilled in multi-tasking in a fast paced environment, a commitment to achieving a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and a no-task-too-small to approach to the work.

Essential Duties And Responsbilities

• Review patient's medical history and insurance information.
• Contact referring physicians for additional information as needed.
• Verify eligibility and benefits for patients via internet portal or calling in to plan.
• Communicate with plan on what needs authorization and then process authorization requests.
• Enter new patient information and/or update patient information into system as needed.
• Prepare reports as necessary.
• Answer telephone and provide exceptional customer service and follow through.
• Back-up front desk as needed.
• Maintains patient confidentiality.
• Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
