Position Title: Senior Systems Administrator

Location: Marlborough, MA Hybrid

Duration: 6 Months

Pay Rate: $65 $70/hr on 1099

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to manage and support enterprise physical and virtual server infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with VMware, Microsoft technologies, infrastructure operations, automation, backup/recovery, and enterprise storage platforms.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• 5 years of server administration experience
• Strong experience with VMware or similar virtualization technologies
• Strong understanding of systems, networking hardware/software, and networking protocols
• Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell
• Automox experience is a plus
• Experience developing and implementing IT infrastructure strategies and operational plans
• Strong knowledge of security, storage, data protection, disaster recovery, and IT operations best practices
• Proven leadership, project coordination, and infrastructure management experience

• VMware administration, including VMware Aria Operations
• Cisco Intersight and UCS server hardware/software
• Pure Storage
• Windows Server administration, including versions 2003 through 2025
• Active Directory
• Microsoft Azure infrastructure management
• Azure/O365 administration, with focus on:
• Exchange Online
• Exchange On-Premises
• SCCM administration
• Backup and recovery solutions, including:
• Veeam
• Veeam Data Cloud
• ExaGrid
• Dell Isilon storage
• Varonis
• Proofpoint email security
• PowerShell scripting and automation
• Familiarity with Linux operating systems

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain physical and virtual server environments
• Manage VMware infrastructure and performance monitoring
• Support Microsoft Azure and O365 environments
• Administer Active Directory, Exchange, SCCM, and enterprise storage platforms
• Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions
• Develop automation solutions using PowerShell and related tools
• Monitor system performance, security, and infrastructure health
• Support infrastructure upgrades, maintenance, and operational improvements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable and secure IT operations
