Veterinary Assistant

Santa Rosa Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team!

As a Veterinary Assistant in our small animal and exotics practice, you’ll be hands-on with both appointments and anesthetic procedures. You’ll collect and process lab samples, administer medications, set up and break down the operating room, and assist with patient prep and recovery. You’ll also connect with pet owners by providing client education and answering questions with professionalism and compassion. This role is ideal for those who want to utilize their skills in both outpatient and surgical settings while also enjoying meaningful client engagement and the satisfaction of working with a supportive team.

This is a flexible full-time or part-time position with shifts scheduled Monday-Friday.

• Compensation: $20-25 per hour, for each hour worked*
• Bonus package: $500 for those with 3 years of consecutive, current VA experience

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

• 3 years of veterinary experience in a clinical setting
• Proficiency in the following skills:
  • Venipuncture and administering injections
  • Radiology positioning and technique
  • Surgical assistance
  • Exotic animal handling
