We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to join our dynamic team. As the Dental Receptionist, you will be responsible for managing front desk operations, facilitating patient interactions, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the dental practice.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Manage appointment scheduling using electronic health record (EHR) systems, including but not limited to Dentrix and Eaglesoft.
- Conduct insurance verification and communicate with patients regarding their coverage and payment options.
- Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper documentation review.
- Handle medical billing and coding tasks, including CPT coding and ICD-10 coding, to facilitate efficient claims processing.
- Provide clerical support by managing phone calls through multi-line phone systems, responding to inquiries, and directing calls appropriately.
- Assist in the preparation of care plans and maintain organized filing systems for medical records.
- Collaborate with dental staff to ensure seamless patient flow and address any administrative needs that arise.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a similar role within a dental or medical office setting.
- Proficiency in EHR systems such as Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, dental terminology, ICD-9, ICD-10 coding, and CPT coding.
- Familiarity with medical billing processes and insurance verification procedures.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and typing accuracy (10 key typing preferred).
- Exceptional organizational abilities with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
