- Thoroughly understands, maintains and complies with company policies, procedures, and SOPs (standard operating procedures)
- Maintains schedule of all projects past, present and future
- Accurately job files all paperwork and maintains proper security for same
- Communicates professionally and courteously to all personnel inside and outside of the company
- Dispatches service personnel for emergency calls
- Assists Department Operations Manager with monthly reports for his/her department
- Understands labor burden, overtime factor, and sales tax percentages for his/her department
- Understands general and administrative (G&A) overhead recovery for his/her department
- Understands all bidding assemblies and production rates for his/her department
- Estimates, creates proposals for, and presents all change orders
- Ensures all change orders meet budgets
- Creates and submits submittal packages
- Submits accurate and timely billings, including monthly progress billings
- Attends project site meetings as needed
- Create and maintain blue-stake requests throughout project duration
- Invoicing, budgeting and ordering of project equipment and materials
- Ability to ‘buy-down’ projects below estimated costs.
- Completes daily and weekly scheduling with team and provides updated job hours and costs to operations team.
- Able to read and perform accurate takeoffs from architectural plans and drawings
- Able to calculate appropriate mathematical conversions (e.g., tons to CY, CY to tons, etc.)
- Proficient in calculating appropriate unit prices
- Assists with job costing for all completed projects
- Responds timely to client requests
- Manages and schedules labor, equipment and material adhering to production schedules and within established budgets while meeting client needs, business objectives and design requirements.
- Works closely with operations and estimating teams to ensure SRL operates as one team with clients and plan appropriately for projects
- Holds pre-construction meetings with sales and operations to ensure proper ‘hand-off’ of projects
- Presents RFI’s to owners/architects/clients to get clarifying information when needed.
- Anticipates or identifies any opportunities or potential problems or risk before project launches and adjusts as necessary throughout the course of the project
- Thorough understanding of contract specifications (both primary and sub-contracts) for each project, project documents and specifications in detail and ensures they are met and maintains complete customer satisfaction
- Hold subcontractors to the same high standards of Santa Rita Landscaping
- Ensure continued communication with clients on the status of projects, do whatever it takes to deliver on our promises to the clients
- Regularly monitors job costs and reports any jobs deviating from budgets of time, schedule, cost or any other factor so appropriates adjustments can be made to maximize end result
- Review and improve upon all processes and procedures of project management to maximize job profitability and service to our clients
- 3 years' experience in the landscape industry in an account management or similar capacity
- Exceptional interpersonal communication and relationship building skills
- Strong organization and conflict management abilities
- Capacity to make critical judgments, solve problems and demonstrate careful attention to detail
- Determination to exceed the goals of position, department, and company by working independently and as an effective leader.
