Overview
We are seeking a friendly and motivated Cashier/Sales Associate to join our retail team. This role is essential in providing excellent customer service, managing sales transactions, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, retail sales experience, and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently. Experience with POS systems, merchandising, and upselling techniques will be highly valued. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve our diverse customer base. This position offers an opportunity to develop sales skills within a dynamic grocery store environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate POS systems accurately to process customer transactions efficiently and securely
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting shoppers with product inquiries and recommendations
- Must live within 10-15 miles maximum. (We have people applying from way too far. Its not something that we are negotiating)
- Maintain proper cash handling procedures and ensure accurate register balancing at the end of each shift
- Assist with merchandising, stocking shelves, and organizing displays to promote products effectively
- Support store cleanliness and organization by restocking items and maintaining an inviting shopping environment
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when addressing customer inquiries or placing orders
- Supervise or assist less experienced team members when needed, fostering a collaborative work environment
- Engage customers in friendly conversation to enhance their shopping experience and promote store loyalty
Requirements
- Previous retail sales or cashiering experience, especially in grocery store settings
- Proficiency with POS systems and basic retail math skills for cash handling and transaction processing
- Strong communication skills, including clear phone etiquette and customer interaction abilities
- Ability to perform upselling and product demos to increase sales performance
- Bilingual skills are advantageous for serving a diverse clientele effectively
- Experience with merchandising, stocking, and inventory management is desirable
- Basic math skills necessary for cash handling and retail calculations
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a friendly attitude and professional appearance
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; prior supervising experience is a plus but not required
Pay: $800.00 - $900.00 per week
