This full-time, on-site High School Water Polo Assistant Coach position is based in Santa Monica, CA. The Assistant Coach will support the Head Coach in planning and leading team practices, games, and tournaments. Key responsibilities include instructing athletes in water polo techniques, fostering team development, overseeing player safety during practices and games, and mentoring students to build discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The Assistant Coach will also assist in game day preparation and coordinate with coaching staff to evaluate player progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Proficiency in Water Polo and Swimming with a strong understanding of game rules and strategies.
- Experience in Coaching and Training players to develop teamwork and athletic skills.
- Knowledge in Aquatics with a focus on safety protocols and best practices in a pool environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and mentorship skills to effectively inspire and manage student-athletes.
- Ability to collaborate with a team of coaches and maintain a positive and inclusive environment.
- CPR and first aid certification, or a willingness to obtain these certifications prior to starting.
- Previous experience in high school or competitive sports coaching is highly desirable.
