ESL Instructor (Part-Time)

Santa Maria Community Services is a catalyst and advocate for Cincinnati’s Greater Price Hill families to attain their educational, financial, and health goals. We provide more than 2,500 individuals with educational tools and resources to build strong families, promote healthy residents, and foster neighborhood revitalization. Santa Maria’s vision is for Greater Price Hill to be a vibrant, thriving, and self-sustaining community. Our Price Hill Family Centers provide a welcoming environment and the coaching, support, and flexibility to assist families to achieve their identified goals toward stabilization and self-sufficiency. We are currently looking for a Part-time ESL Instructor to help support our mission. The position pays $21.32 per hour

ESL Instructor Position Overview: Provide instruction in reading, writing, listening, speaking, and grammar while using a variety of teaching strategies and techniques to meet the needs of students with different learning styles; developing, implementing, and revising lesson plans and instructional materials; evaluating students’ academic growth and language proficiency; maintaining accurate records of student progress; tracking student attendance each week; participating in team meetings with supervisor and other ESL staff.

ESL Instructor Position Requirements: Evidence of high level of motivation, initiative, perseverance, and independent judgment. Ability to work in a variety of settings with culturally diverse families and communities. Proven ability to establish and maintain ongoing professional relationships with program participants, team members, and partner agencies. A strong sense of respect for confidentiality involving participants and fellow employees. Excellent technology skills, knowledge of and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems logically and methodically. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently or in a group and excellent time management skills. Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision,, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

One year of related service experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
