SUMMARY:  


In direct coordination with the Clinical Program Manager and Residential Nurse, the Recovery Support/Med Tech Supervisor is responsible for the administration, management, and oversight of the resident milieu for clients (and their children) being served by SFRC. Provides oversees and/or administers a wide range of interventions and support techniques to ensure smooth operations and a supportive living environment for clients in residential treatment, including but not limited to crisis intervention, administration of medication, group/individual support, and/or case management services. Requires strong ability to clearly communicate, while guiding program development and individual/family daily programming with internal staff, as well as with community partners.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Provides program development, implementation, and oversight of services specific to the needs of individuals with addiction (and their dependent children). 
  • Works closely with Clinical Program Manager and designated staff from partner agencies to ensure a holistic view and coordination of care for clients (and their dependents). 
  • Consults with other disciplines and related professional and paraprofessional staff to support specific needs of clients/families; refers clients to appropriate service agencies and supports as required. 
  • Works with the Case Managers on referrals of clients to appropriate social service agencies for financial assistance and other needed services; includes providing accommodations for external community service providers to visit with individuals at SFRC. 
  • Provides oversight of intake and admission process for new clients, including program and orientation for new residents. 
  • Provides training, supervision, and management of supervisees, and conducts scheduling for all supervisees. 
  • Responsible for oversight and supply of medication in the building - both prescription and over-the-counter medications. Responsible for the count of medications for each shift per established procedure. 
  • Responsible for ensuring that clients have access to necessary medication; includes securing ordered medication from local pharmacies in a timely manner. 
  • Assists clients with self-administration of medication according to medical orders, including regular checks for accuracy of medication administered by all supervisees. This includes appropriate documentation of Medication Administration Records (MARs) in client files. 
  • Ensures appropriate scheduling of client appointments (medical and other), including transportation for appointments that occur off residential campus. 
  • Responsible for the direct care of residents in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort. 
  • Performs duties in accordance with SFRC policies and procedures. 
  • Maintains professionalism with clients at all times and must never have personal relationships with any clients. 
  • Ensures rounds are completed at least every 15 - 30 minutes on all shifts. 
  • Ensures bedroom checks/bed checks are completed and observe all clients on census every 30 minutes on overnight shifts. 
  • Monitors and oversees client chores and laundry according to daily schedule - to be coordinated with supervisees. 
  • Coordinates with an interdisciplinary team to inventory and order medical and other programmatic supplies needed. 
  • Ensures oversight of linens and other program supplies; inventory, dispense, and maintain linen and towels, and ensures clients sign out and return linens as instructed. 
  • Transports clients to appointments when appropriate. Must be the same gender. 
  • Maintains confidentiality in accordance with State and Federal law, the SFRC code of ethics, and SFRC policies and procedures. 
  • Participates in regular chart reviews and other Quality Assurance processes. 
  • Conducts BAC and conducts urine drug screens as requested and necessary for all clients returning from the past. 
  • Checks client vitals as necessary and as requested by medical staff. 
  • Conducts daily charting of all clients. 
  • May provide formal teaching, consultation, and in-service training to relevant professionals and paraprofessionals within the agency and/or with community partners. 
  • Attends seminars and workshops as necessary to ensure compliance and fidelity with new and existing evidence-based modalities and treatment approaches utilized by SFRC. 
  • Provides coordination, availability, and full participation in all aspects of any programmatic review, survey, site visits, and/or program evaluation. 
  • Understands and maintains HIPAA and 42CFR Part 2 confidentiality standards relative to SFRC. 
  • Performs and/or coordinates other special assignments and tasks, as required, by the Supervisor. 

SPECIAL SKILLS:


  • Highly effective oral and written communications skills with internal and external clients and stakeholders; strong ability to work collaboratively across internal agency disciplines and with multiple community agencies. 
  • Ability to observe and document client progress. 
  • Knowledge of milieu operations and procedures; ability to make administrative and programmatic decisions in collaboration with direct care and clinical staff. 
  • Ability to supervise and train employees, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments. 
  • Skill in preparing, maintaining, and overseeing patient records. 
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency or crisis situations. 
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards. 
  • Computer experience, knowledge of, or demonstrated ability to learn Access, Word, and electronic medical records (EMR-Bear). 
  • Ability to solve unexpected problems as they arise while considering liability, precedence, programmatic implications, and other possible future impacts on the program, services, or organization. 
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels within the organization and with external stakeholders. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • High School Diploma or GED. 
  • Medical Technician Certification. 
  • Endorsement by New Mexico Association for Infant Mental Health (IMH-E®)-Category I or above - preferred. 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and accurately, both verbally and in writing. 
  • Ability to exercise tact, patience, and discretion when dealing with residents, families, staff, and the public. 
  • Ability to relate understanding and kindness to residents and their families. 
  • Ability to keep observations, conversations, and information confidential. 
  • Must be computer literate to effectively maintain compliance with licensing and certification standards and requirements for use of computerized client assessments, data systems, etc. 
  • Must have and maintain a current, valid NM Driver's License if responsible for transporting clients or running errands for the Center. 
  • Must have and maintain a clean driving record, as well as auto insurance. 
  • Maintain CPR and First Aid certification card on file. 
  • Bi-lingual/Bi-cultural preferred. (English/Spanish). 
  • Must be 21 years of age or older. 

Salary : $41,218 - $65,949
