What are the responsibilities and job description for the DWI Compliance Monitor Supervisor position at Santa Fe County NM?
Under the general supervision of the Program Manager. In charge of overseeing Santa Fe County’s DWI Screening/Compliance and Monitoring program, oversees compliance monitors to ensure DWI o?ender’s compliance with Court ordered sanctions.
Work is performed primarily in an office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly uses standard office equipment and is typically required to use manual dexterity, routine hearing, verbal communication and visual acuity to complete standard tasks, may also be required to stand, walk, and sit, reach with hands or arms. Occasional travel and overtime work may be required. Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.

Selected candidate must submit to and pass a County paid pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol screening. Additionally, selected candidate must submit to and pass a county paid criminal background screening. Selected candidate must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Class D Driver’s License as incumbent shall be appointed to drive a County vehicle during the performance of his/her duties.
- Supervises staff, provides instruction to employees; plans and assigns work; evaluates and approves/disapproves leave requests; approves timesheets; checks final work to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures; recommends the hiring of new employees; recommends disciplinary action; provides feedback on work performance for employees; completes performance evaluations for employees.
- Coordinates the e?orts of the Compliance Subcommittee of the DWI Planning Council.
- Conducts evaluation of alcohol and substance abuse treatment e?orts to determine the e?ectiveness of treatment programs and treatment approaches used in the community.
- Attends DWI dockets as needed to monitor DWI cases and to register defendants for Noble IDA Assessment and screenings.
- Oversees Compliance programs bench warrant ?ling system, insuring ?ling system is updated on a regular basis by removing warrants that have been quashed by the court or that have been served and closed out.
- Manages and maintains required databases, ensures timely input of o?ender information, Gathers and reviews program data to identify trends amongst DWI population.
- Serves as the primary point of contact with the Courts regarding programmatic issues such as scheduling, record keeping, and o?ender compliance.
- Analyzes policies and procedures to improve program e?ciency and e?ectiveness. Implements and administers ?scal and performance aspects of the Compliance program.
- Maintains working relationships with community providers and other organizations by attending various committees and boards to ensure continuity of services.
- Assists in the preparation and submission of LDWI quarterly reports for the Alternative Sentencing Component.
- Assists in assessing program needs and coordinates resources to enhance existing programs.
- Must complete all training as designated or assigned
- Performs other duties as directed or assigned.
- Knowledge of substance abuse prevention and curriculum development.
- Knowledge of budget process, office procedures teaching/ training techniques/models.
- Knowledge of community assessment and strategic planning.
- Skill informing working relationships with a wide variety of community members, organizations, and agencies
- Ability to communicate e?ectively both verballyandinwriting
- Ability to usewordprocessingsoftware
- Ability towork witha broad range of ages, and developing, organizing and implementing programs and policies.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Five (5) years of experience in Psychology, Social Work, Court Systems, or law enforcement.
- Two (2) years of which must be in a supervisory capacity.
- A completed New Mexico EDGE Public Supervisor certification will substitute for two (2) years of required supervisory experience.
- Education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis
