The department maintains and enhances college facilities, grounds and infrastructure in a safe and responsible manner. Under general supervision, the Mover is responsible for transporting furniture, office equipment, student supplies, and related miscellaneous items within the Santa Fe College campuses and centers for faculty and staff as needed. Job Description Responsibilities and Duties Include: Receives and processes work orders for completion; may serve as the main contact person in communications with customers regarding work orders. Operates a large moving truck in the transportation of furniture, materials, and other items as requested. Loads and unloads furniture and related material onto and off trucks; ensures that appropriate padding and ropes are used to prevent damage. Arranges and sets up furniture and related items for classrooms, meetings, and other events. Locates and relocates desks, chairs, tables, bookcases, and other related office equipment and furniture. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. Works in a safe and courteous manner while interacting with both faculty and students. Assists with set up and breakdown of events throughout the school semester. Assists other trades as needed. Complies with all published College Rules, procedures, guidelines, and laws/regulations governing public employees, including but not limited to those related to document retention and destruction, FERPA, and confidentiality. Provides service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement. Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional Requirements: A criminal background check will be conducted. Applicants must have a valid Florida Class E Operator (driver’s) license and be authorized to drive for the college.
