Job Summary
Job Summary
Assist in determining eligibility of students for specialized instructional services; provides speech and language therapy to individual students and to small groups of students; design and implement an Individualized Education Program with goals and objectives designed to remediate identified deficiencies for each eligible student; participate in team meetings to design/develop the Student Individual Education Plan (IEP). Consult with instructional staff, parents, physicians and outside agencies regarding specific speech, language and remedial needs of students; attend IEP’s, staff development, and other meetings in the course of providing speech and language services; review, prepare and maintain records and confidential files and write reports; promote development of positive self-esteem; participate in professional development activities.
Requirements / Qualifications
We are currently recruiting for a full-time position. The selected candidate may have the option to reduce their assignment to 60% FTE based on mutual agreement and organizational needs. This position will be assigned to the Special Education Department. It is an itinerant position that will be required to travel between various Santa Cruz County Office of Education Special Education school sites. Possession of a valid appropriate California Speech/Language Pathology Services Credential. Possession of a valid Class C California Driver's License with valid California Automobile Insurance. MA Stipend $1500 (pro-rated); Ph. D Stipend $400 (pro-rated).
Benefits: Fully paid dental and vision insurance covering both employee and dependents. For Medical, employee portion depends on the plan chosen. The employee is also provided with long-term disability insurance and life insurance. Employee to pay CalSTRS portion of their retirement.
