Job Summary
Job Summary
This position will be assigned to the Santa Cruz County College and Career Collaborative (S5C) department under the Educational Services division: The Director, Santa Cruz County College and Career Collaborative (S5C) leads efforts to improve college and career access and success for all students. The director functions under the supervision of the Associate Superintendent, Educational Services with guidance from the S5C Steering Committee, composed of TK-16 leaders across Santa Cruz County. The Director develops and maintains communications and working relationships with public and private agencies, state and federal legislative branches, and other governmental entities affecting policy and program enhancements for Santa Cruz County TK-12 School Districts, the Santa Cruz County Office of Education, Cabrillo College, CSUMB, SJSU and UCSC. The Director leads and manages grants and programs related to college and career pathways professional development, and data collection. Supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel.
Requirements / Qualifications
Please read the complete job description. Education: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in education, social service or a related field. A Master’s degree is required and a Doctorate's degree is preferable. Experience: Three (3) years of experience in educational administration or three years of experience in lobbying, advocacy, public policy, coalition building, and grant writing for public, non-profit agencies is required. Experience within a public education setting is required. Experience in both TK-12 and higher education is desired. Experience with college and career readiness is required. Experience as an education or industry leader in college and career readiness from early childhood through adult learners. License or Certificate: Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California driver’s license and appropriate vehicle operation insurance.
To be initially considered, an applicant must submit the following: 1. Completed online application 2. A résumé providing educational preparation, including specific degrees; professional experience; and professional references 3. Three recent letters of recommendations Selection Process: All applicants are required to submit an on-line employment application with attached resume and three recommendation letters. In order to identify the most qualified applicants, a paper screening committee will screen all applications. Qualified applicants will be invited to oral board interviews. Finalist candidates will be certified for a final selection interview. If selected, fingerprinting is required. You will need to supply our office with a negative tuberculosis test clearance. The certificate is good for a four-year period. You can have the test done through the Santa Cruz Health Department, Doctors on Duty Clinic or by calling a physician or a clinic of your choice.
