Job Summary

Under the direction of the Site Administrator: • Assist a certificated teacher in reinforcing instruction to individuals or small groups of students with special needs assigned to a Special Day Class (SDC) • Assist in the preparation of instructional materials and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) • Assist in the presentation and preparation of learning materials, lesson plans and instructional exercises • Perform routine clerical and supportive tasks for instructional personnel.

Requirements / Qualifications

Training and Experience: - Completion of the 12th grade or equivalent and two years’ experience working with students - College course work in Psychology, elementary education, child growth and development may be substituted for experience ESSA (or NCLB) Compliance: - Completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education or, - Obtained an associates or higher degree (college level) or, - Take the Paraprofessional test and pass that can be provided by Santa Cruz City Schools.
