Requirements / Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: - AA or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Youth/Adolescent Development or a related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred. - 3-5 years of experience working with children ages 4-12 years old in an after school enrichment program - CPR and First Aid Certified - Working knowledge or the ability to learn District adopted software: Google suite software, Google Classroom, Google Hangout and/or Zoom, etc. - Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English - Must be in good health, able to lift 30 lbs. chest high, and pass a physical exam - Must be able to walk, squat, bend and stand; ability to move freely to supervise and engage in indoor and outdoor activities with children.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: - Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum directly connected to the needs and interests of the children. - Ability to write and support Associate Teachers and Teacher Aides in curriculum development using project-based learning, STEAM/STEM education and related developmentally appropriate curriculum models. - Ability to lead and mentor Associate Teachers and Teacher Aides in the development of classroom plans and goals. - Keep children safe and healthy through proper supervision, authentic interaction and practicing good health habits. - Create exciting and enriched environments connected to curriculum and quality learning experiences. - Communicate regularly with parents to support, guide, and share in their child’s development. - Work collaboratively with other staff by practicing workplace values, flexibility, and being a team player. - Provide excellent customer service for families, school, community and each other.
