Job Description – Veterinary Receptionist
Santa Clara Pet Hospital is seeking a professional and customer-focused Veterinary Receptionist to support daily front-desk operations in a fast-paced companion animal hospital. The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, and able to communicate effectively with pet owners while coordinating with veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome clients and their pets in a friendly and professional manner.
- Schedule appointments, manage patient records, and update client information using veterinary practice management software.
- Answer multi-line phone systems, respond to client inquiries, and relay messages to medical staff.
- Process payments, prepare invoices, and balance daily transactions.
- Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and appointment reminders.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure confidentiality of client information.
- Coordinate with veterinarians and technicians to support efficient patient flow.
- Keep the reception and waiting areas clean, organized, and welcoming.
- Monitor inventory of office supplies and place orders when necessary.
- Provide general administrative support to ensure smooth hospital operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in customer service, medical reception, or veterinary practice preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask in a busy clinical environment.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with scheduling software.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including occasional weekends or holidays.
Work Environment:
This position is based in a full-service small animal veterinary hospital serving dogs, cats, and other companion animals. The role involves regular interaction with clients, veterinary staff, and animals while maintaining a professional, compassionate, and team-oriented approach to patient care.
Pay: $3,200.00 - $4,000.00 per month
