Position Title: Residential Coordinator
Reports To: Men’s Program Director
Department: Men’s Program
Employment Status: Full Time, Non-Exempt
General Functions
The Residential Coordinator provides support to the Residential Treatment Program and occasionally to the Homeless Guests Services Program. This position works directly with the Men’s Program Staff to provide supervision of client’s daily activities along with assisting of clerical duties. This position also provides occasional support to the Homeless Guest Services Director by assisting in the monitoring and supervision of guests and services.
Position Requirements
This position requires experience with drug and alcohol recovery, as well as a working knowledge of the homeless population. Demonstrating strong Christian values while having the ability to work as a flexible team member are required. In addition, The Residential Coordinator must be comfortable with conflict resolution, multi-tasking, and taking initiative in decision making.
Principal Activities
- Provide leadership and supervision of residents to maintain order within program and cleanliness of facility:
Develop, manage, and implement clients’ scheduled chore duties
Monitor program residents in completion of assigned chores
Manage oversight of cleanliness of residential treatment facility
Organize and supervise weekly program “double scrubs”
Ensure residents are reporting to mandatory functions (i.e. work, class, phase group, etc.)
Ensure residents are complying with all program policies and procedures
Monitor operational policies and procedures for accuracy and completion in accordance with State regulations
2. Support administration of treatment program:
New resident intake/orientations
Maintain client records in program database and record daily activity in staff log
Provide resident and program information to support staff, as needed
Completed appropriate logs, bed counts, and security reports
Maintain and distribute program rosters as directed
3. Ensure clean, safe, healthy therapeutic and drug free environment:
- Protect and ensure the confidentiality for all residents and guests
- Provide drug testing as necessary for residents
- Conduct inspections of facilities for safety, cleanliness and contraband
- Spot searches: suitcases, boxes, all containers residents bring into the facility
- Ensure visitors are authorized and display proper visitor's badge
- Report unsafe conditions or maintenance needs immediately
- Respond to fire alarms and other emergency situations as directed
- Secure, monitor, or dispose of all medications in the appropriate manner
- Refer residents to proper facilities for health care as needed
4. Support treatment team in conflict management
Set and maintain professional boundaries with residents and peers
Support treatment team during the intervention of behavioral issues using the Behavior Modification System
- Ensure and facilitate crisis intervention and conflict resolution as needed
- Deescalate volatile situations using professional techniques
5. Perform job duties as a team member:
- Maintain open communication with supervisor’s and peers
- Attend staff meetings and be prepared to give input
- Attend team building and training activities as assigned

Occasional support of Homeless Guest Services team
Supervise Recovery Program clients who are working with or serving the homeless
Intervene during crisis situations
Monitor the flow of homeless guests during dinner and check-in
Work with community volunteers who are present during guest meals and afterward

This position assures that a safe, healthy, therapeutic environment is maintained and that the residents of the Recovery Program are active participants in their recovery program in accordance with the goals and vision of the Board of Directors as interpreted by the President.
