Position: License Vocation Nurse - Behavioral Unit Staff

Shifts Available:

AM (7:00 AM - 3:00 PM)

PM (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM)

NOC (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM)

Schedule:

Full-Time (4 days on, 2 days off rotation)

Pay: Competitive pay based on experience

Santa Anita Convalescent Hospital is seeking compassionate, dedicated professionals with behavioral health experience to join our specialized Behavioral Unit. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals experiencing behavioral, psychiatric, cognitive, or emotional challenges and will be committed to providing safe, respectful, and person-centered care.

Behavioral Unit Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care and supervision to residents within the Behavioral Unit.
• Monitor and document behavioral observations, interventions, and resident responses.
• Assist with implementing individualized behavioral care plans.
• Support residents with activities of daily living while promoting dignity and independence.
• Utilize de-escalation techniques and therapeutic communication strategies.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, social services, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for residents and staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in behavioral health, psychiatric care, memory care, mental health services, or related settings.
• Experience working with residents exhibiting challenging behaviors, dementia-related behaviors, or psychiatric diagnoses.
• Knowledge of crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Requirements:

• Minimum one year of behavioral health, psychiatric, healthcare, or related experience preferred
• Current BLS Card (preferred)
• English (Required)
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Ability to work a rotating 4-on, 2-off schedule
