POSITION TITLE: Sports/Events Coordinator
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
DEPARTMENT: Tamaya Wellness Center (TWC)
SUPERVISOR: Sports and Event Program Manager
GRADE: NE4
Position Summary:
The Sports/Events Coordinator will manage, supervise, and coordinate special events and sports activities. This position is responsible for marketing and promotion of events and sports activities. Must be available to work night shifts and weekends. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information. This list of duties and responsibilities is illustrative only of the tasks performed by this position and is not all-inclusive.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist with public relations duties such as preparing and distributing flyers, press releases and brochures, etc. as needed.
Review team rosters, league schedules, tournaments etc. as needed.
Assist with preparation and administering of individual program or facility budgets as needed and appropriate; monitor expenditures for any and all events, activities, and requests.
Assist in the development of new classes, new special events, the implementation of new activities and programs and coordinate with the recreation programs for facility usage.
Assist the Wellness Program group exercise classes as needed.
Coordinate after recreational activities to include off-site field trips.
Coordinate and supervise staff on weeknights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, the public, and other departments, and agencies.
Follow written and oral instructions.
