Role Overview
We are seeking a battle-tested Lead IT Infrastructure Carve-out Architect/Project Manager to spearhead the technical decoupling of a $100M revenue business unit from a Global 100 parent organization. This is a high-stakes, "greenfield" build-out requiring the architectural design and execution of a standalone global infrastructure within a strict 9 – 12 month window.
The successful candidate will own planning the transition from a deeply integrated, centralized ParentCo environment to an independent entity. You will be responsible for everything from designing the new SD-WAN backbone to planning the migration of 375 global users across 6 countries, ensuring zero downtime for critical Engineering and Operations applications. This role demands a rare blend of technical architecture authority and rigorous Divestiture project governance.
Key Responsibilities
• Architectural Design & Strategy: Lead the design and implementation of a standalone infrastructure, replacing legacy Global 100 shared services with a modern, scalable stack (SD-WAN, SaaS Applications, M365).
• Go Live Readiness: Develop the "cutover" playbook to ensure all sites (U.S., Belgium, Italy, India, China, and Singapore) are operational on Day 1 without reliance on ParentCo''s MPLS or identity providers.
• International Execution: Understand the complexities of global hardware procurement, ISP cutovers, and regulatory compliance (GDPR, local data sovereignty) across EMEA and APAC time zones.
• Cloud & Identity Migration: Plan tenant-to-tenant migrations for Azure/AWS and manage the transition from centralized ParentCo identity to a standalone IAM environment.
• Operational Continuity: Perform local server remediation and "lift and shift" migrations for specialized Engineering and Ops applications, ensuring no disruption to manufacturing or design workflows.
• Physical Security Transition: Decouple and stand up independent local video surveillance and building access management systems.
• TSA & Vendor Management: Manage the technical obligations of the Transition Service Agreement (TSA), drive the RFP process for a new Managed Service Provider (MSP), and manage vendors during detailed planning.
Technical & Professional Requirements
• M&A Proven Playbook: Minimum of 10 years in IT Infrastructure, with at least 2 documented successful IT carve-outs from enterprise-scale environments.
• Network & Security: Expert-level knowledge of SD-WAN deployments, firewall migrations, and the decommissioning of MPLS circuits.
• Modern Identity: Mastery of IAM and M365 tenant-to-tenant migrations.
• International Logistics: Demonstrated experience managing IT deployments in China and India, including Navigating Great Firewall constraints and local procurement hurdles.
• Governance Mastery: Expert proficiency in managing complex, resource-loaded project plans that align technical milestones with legal and financial "Close" dates.
Soft Skills & Leadership
• Extreme Ownership: A "commander" mindset that thrives under the pressure of hard deadlines and ambiguity.
• Diplomatic Authority: The ability to negotiate with ParentCo IT teams to secure cooperation during the decoupling process.
• Urgency-Driven Communication: Clear, concise reporting for executive steering committees that highlights risks before they become issues.
