Location: Northborough, MA (on-site)

Type: Contract (W2)
Term: 12-months

Schedule: Monday - Friday; 7AM-3:30PM (with occasional OT)

Pay Rate Max: $29 per hour

Sanofi's contingent workforce program, FLEXT Direct, is seeking a Manufacturing Associate I for a 12-month contract.

This detail-oriented and safety-conscious manufacturing professional will join our dynamic Packaging group at our pharmaceutical operations center in Northborough, MA.

This role supports the labeling and packaging of final drug product vials for distribution across U.S., European, and International markets, directly contributing to the care of a global patient population. Working Monday - Friday; 7AM-3:30PM with occasionally OT (starting at 6AM and staying until 4:30PM) the successful candidate will operate within a highly regulated environment governed by Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and rigorous safety standards.

This role offers meaningful collaboration with cross-functional teams including Quality Assurance, Materials Management, Facilities Engineering, Validation, Metrology, and Manufacturing Technical Support, as well as interaction with outside contractors, vendors, internal auditors, and regulatory agency representatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate, change over, and clean automated and manual packaging equipment in strict accordance with SOPs, GMP guidelines, and safety policies

  • Document all production activities accurately in batch records, log sheets, attachments, and electronic batch record systems

  • Perform manual packaging tasks on an assembly line, maintaining consistent quality and pace

  • Maintain sufficient inventory of packaging materials and manage replenishment as needed

  • Routinely and safely handle high-value product vials in various stages of packaging completion, including retrieval and storage from a 2–8°C cold room

  • Identify and promptly communicate process deviations to the supervisor or manager

  • Optimize automated packaging equipment to ensure peak performance

  • Work safely with hazardous materials such as Isopropyl Alcohol and Butanone

  • Periodically inspect and maintain flammables cabinets and satellite hazardous waste accumulation stations

  • Use computer-based systems for data collection, data analysis, timekeeping, email, and inventory management

  • Keep all required training current and complete retraining prior to expiration dates

  • Follow all written and verbal instructions provided by supervisors and managers

  • Lift up to 35 lbs. and move heavy objects such as product vial cages and pallets of packaging materials

  • Stand for extended periods of up to 3 hours during manual packaging operations

  • Adhere to all gowning requirements including hairnet, beard cover, lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, shoe covers, and task-specific PPE

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP)

  • Basic mechanical aptitude for operating and troubleshooting packaging equipment

  • Solid mathematical and analytical skills for production documentation and data review

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Experience with ERP systems for inventory and production management

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and compliance

  • Ability to safely handle hazardous materials in accordance with established protocols

  • Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 lbs.


Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a packaging or equivalent manufacturing environment required

  • 2–10 years of experience in a packaging and Good Documentation Practices environment preferred

  • Minimum 6 years of packaging or equivalent manufacturing experience strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated experience operating both automated and manual packaging equipment

  • Prior experience in a pharmaceutical, biotech, or similarly regulated manufacturing environment is a plus


Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
