What are the responsibilities and job description for the Key Supplier Operations Lead (KSOL) - Vaccine position at Sanofi?

OVERVIEW:

The Key Suppliers Operations lead, based on an IA site, will drive supplier performance and contribution at the site level aligned with Sanofi Procurement and IA GBU strategy (at the site level). He will operate on 4 key missions:

  • Site coordination, prioritization, implementation with regards to the Sanofi Procurement /IA GBU strategy and Single point of ownership” for all aspects of the Supplier Excellence agenda”

  • Demand Management Process

  • Supplier Performance and impact on site competitiveness (Leveraging TCO)

  • Risk management (single source risks and driving initiatives related to dual sourcing, etc.,)

The approach is to:

  • Agree on feasibility & target (with Procurement)

  • Coordinate activities to implement (measure progress & outcome)

  • Challenge specifications

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

MAIN OBJECTIVE: Optimize TCO for materials & services purchased in alignment with Procurement/IA GBU strategy with 3 MISSIONS:

Demand Management

  • Review & challenge site specifications for better alignment vs Cluster/IA wild standards

  • Evaluate Sanofi demand vs market & suppliers' standard offering

  • Assess and optimize, with Supply-chain, from the demand with volume forecast accuracy to goods reception at the Sanofi site

  • Assessment of the total cost of ownership (TCO) vs. the return on that investment in the market

  • A local representative for sites operations involving our suppliers to drive efficiency

  • Coordination of all the functions required at the site (Regulatory, Quality, Production, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, MSAT, SMS) to roll out procurement actions.

  • Manage the execution on time of the action plans for all initiatives agreed upon related to supplier

  • Coordinate E2E QA process in case of suppliers/specifications change

  • Act as a site’s single point of contact for all supplier operational issues (with procurement)

  • Drive supplier collaboration and innovation across operations (with procurement)

  • Manage/contribute to supplier performance & impact at the site

  • Lead weekly/monthly review with key suppliers toward a set of contracted KPIs (with digital supplier performance scorecard and KPIs embedded in a contract) in relation to site ‘ QDCI level 3’

  • Lead structured root cause problem solving to identify & implement actions for the problem defined does not happen again

  • Risk management: Support Single source risks reduction and drive initiatives related to dual sourcing, etc.

ALL these tasks will have to be performed through strong collaboration with Procurement Category teams, IA Global Business Unit and/or cluster heads, SMS, Finance teams, legal teams, technical teams, etc. operating as a single team focused on a common supplier strategy and site performance.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, Biology, Chemistry, or other similar relevant disciplines.

  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in a Pharma/Bio setting, preferably within industrial affairs (at site/division/global level or in a global function).

  • Prior exposure to industrial affairs in an operational role, and/or experience in performance improvement/ transformation projects is a plus

  • Candidates with a mixed Supplier Relationship/Operations/Leadership background welcome

Technical Skills:

  • Successful, multi-year track record of managing complex, cross-functional projects /programs

  • Either technical background (e.g.: manufacturing, engineering), procurement/negotiation/sourcing background, or roles requiring strong analytical skills (e.g.: finance, audit)

  • Experience in an environment connected with supplier topics would be a plus.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially in a cross-functional context

  • Robust project management skills (incl. planning) – Able to develop comprehensive workable solutions incorporating the constraints and inputs from all functions in complex situations

  • Ability to quickly draw the big picture and solve problems: understand quickly the key issues at stake for the different functions and develop workable solutions accordingly
