This role will drive patient awareness, engagement, and empowerment initiatives — building the prelaunch foundation to support patients on their diagnostic and treatment journey. This role will be based in Cambridge and will report into the Global Indication Lead for IgG4-RD.

Join the team transforming care for people with immune challenges, rare diseases, cancers, and Specialty Care neurological conditions. In Specialty Care, you’ll help deliver breakthrough treatments that bring hope to patients with some of the highest unmet needs.

Our deep understanding of the immune system – and innovative pipeline – enables us to invent medicines and vaccines that treat and protect millions of people around the world. Together, we chase the miracles of science to improve people’s lives.

Main Responsibilities

Patient Strategy & Insights

  • Develop and lead the global patient marketing strategy for rilzabrutinib in IgG4-RD, translating deep patient insights into impactful prelaunch initiatives that address unmet needs across the patient journey

  • Conduct and synthesize patient research and journey mapping to identify key barriers, touchpoints, and opportunities — from symptom onset and diagnosis through treatment decision-making

  • Champion the patient voice across the global brand team, ensuring patient perspectives meaningfully inform brand strategy, messaging, and program development

Disease Awareness & Patient Education

  • Design and execute disease awareness campaigns targeting IgG4-RD patients and caregivers, addressing the significant diagnostic delays and knowledge gaps that characterize this rare disease

  • Develop patient education resources that build understanding of IgG4-RD, treatment options, and the potential role of rilzabrutinib — ensuring content is accessible, accurate, and culturally relevant across global markets

  • Partner with Medical Affairs and Patient Advocacy to ensure all patient-facing content is scientifically sound and aligned with the overall brand narrative

Patient Advocacy & Community Engagement

  • Liaise with Public Affairs and Patient Advocacy to align patient marketing initiatives with broader advocacy strategy and ensure coordinated engagement with patient advocacy organizations and community stakeholders in IgG4-RD

  • Collaborate with Public Affairs and Patient Advocacy to translate advocacy insights into patient marketing programs, ensuring patient community feedback shapes disease awareness campaigns and educational resources

  • Serve as the marketing interface with patient advocacy groups, supporting the development and execution of co-created initiatives that engage and empower the IgG4-RD patient community

Digital & Omnichannel Patient Engagement

  • Own the digital patient engagement strategy, developing an omnichannel approach that meets patients and caregivers where they are across digital, social, and community platforms

  • Drive the development of a patient-facing digital platform or resource hub for IgG4-RD, providing disease education, support resources, and community connection ahead of launch

  • Establish KPIs and measurement frameworks to evaluate the reach, engagement, and impact of patient marketing programs

Cross-Functional Leadership & Affiliate Support

  • Serve as the global patient marketing lead within the cross-functional brand team, collaborating closely with HCP Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Market Research, Regulatory, Communications, and Public Affairs

  • Partner with country affiliates and affiliate marketing teams to adapt global patient strategies for local market needs, ensuring consistent messaging while enabling market-specific execution and supporting local patient engagement initiatives

  • Work with Market Research to design and execute patient research initiatives that inform strategy development, messaging refinement, and program optimization

  • Work with agency and vendor partners to deliver innovative, best-in-class patient programs that set a new standard in rare disease patient engagement

About You:

  • 8 years of marketing experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with a strong track record in patient marketing, rare disease, or specialty care

  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing global or multi-market patient marketing strategies

  • Deep understanding of the patient journey in rare or complex diseases, with experience translating patient insights into actionable marketing programs

  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to influence without authority across global teams and country affiliates

  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex scientific concepts into compelling patient-friendly narratives

  • Experience in prelaunch or launch environments strongly preferred; rare disease or autoimmune/immunology experience a plus

  • Ability to travel internationally as required
