Production Controller

Job Purpose

Our Carrollton facility is looking for a Production Controller for our IMS manufacturing operations. Plans, schedules and monitors the movement of material through the production cycle.

Nature Of Duties/Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

• Plans, schedules, coordinates and/or monitors products through the complete production cycle based on customer orders and delivery requirements
• Work from engineering plans and production specifications to establish production schedules, labor loading, and capacity requirements
• Coordinates production plans to ensure materials are provided according to schedules
• Makes or recommends revisions to planned production schedules as necessary when schedules cannot be met
• Reschedules rework, unfinished parts, and assemblies, new production releases, and special orders
• Analyzes the demand requirements vs. the supply commitments and possibilities
• Performs due diligence by conducting what-if analyses for all demand changes, prior to agreements being made with customers
• Executes MRP run for changed demand and end item supply requirements
• Works with Master Production Scheduling to ensure closed loop feedback process is in place for all potential risks to meeting supply
• Works with Purchasing to confirm materials availability for all demand requests that require orders to be expedited or placed within lead-time.
• Works with Management and Supply Chain for agreement of order quantities and rules, buffer inventories, etc.
• Provides domestic and international materials and required documentation to logistics for outgoing shipments.
• Communicates with offsite buyers to close invoices upon receipts of materials
• Responsible for developing demand intake for production and contributing to the creation of the END item supply plan in the MRP
• Reviews the production plan with Manager weekly to understand changes, review capacity loads, and materials plans/risks
• Updates Oracle, or other database, or spreadsheets for incoming and outgoing materials to ensure inventory accuracy of customer assemblies, components and overhead materials
• Performs cycle counts and reports metrics to management
• Monitors shortages in work in process and follows up with Purchasing on material availability and Stockroom to fill those shortages upon material receipt
• Reviews and publishes production work order status weekly. Works variances with Stockroom and closes work orders
• Assists production with moving released orders through the production process from department to department and to shipping
  
  

Education And Experience

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
• Minimum 2 years related experience
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing capabilities and processes
• A strong background in MRP required
• An understanding of master scheduling and forecasting processes required
• Preferred experience with electronic multi level builds who is willing to work in a fast paced environment
• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks
• Ability to manage customer relationships required
• Strong computer skills, both MS Office and Google Suite
• Ability to create and understand reports to support production decisions
• A desire to promote the success of the organization and production staff
