POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for the effective completion of maintenance and preventive maintenance activities for all tooling.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Employees will be trained to all applicable company standards as identified on the company training matrix TR-401

  1. Be capable of repairing and maintaining existing tooling while working to deadlines.
  2. Be capable of effectively operating Tool Room equipment. (Milling machines, Lathes, Etc.)
  3. Willing to work overtime on short notice when needed.
  4. Complete all tasks in a safe and productive manner so as to ensure the health and safety of not only yourself but your coworkers as well.
  5. Maintain high levels of housekeeping at all times.
  6. Track all hours and complete all documentation on a daily basis.
  7. Maximize the utilization of time and equipment.
  8. Technical support for the Maintenance Manager, Shift Supervisors, Processors, Mold Setters
  9. Continual communication with the Maintenance Manager, Engineering Manager, Shift Supervisors, Processors, Mold Setters and support staffs to ensure continuity of efforts.
  10. Other assignments as designated by the Maintenance Manager.

SPECIFICATIONS:

  1. Requires a commitment to continuous improvement in order to meet ever increasing demands for improved quality, cost, and delivery performance.
  2. Minimum education is a high school diploma or equivalent. 
  3. Ability to communicate effectively with the Maintenance Manager, as well as with other staff members and production personnel.
  4. Must be able to work as an individual but also as part of a team.
  5. Must have own tools, as a minimum see attached Tool List.
  6. Need to have a high level of flexibility when required.
  7. Must be able to work effectively and efficiently in what can sometimes be a stressful environment and treat people with respect.
  8. Be able to think on your feet so you can complete tasks in a rapid yet safe manner.
  9. Must have a positive attitude and commitment towards improving the company’s performance.
  10. Experienced in the maintenance and repair of large injection molds.
  11. Must be able to identify solutions to molding defects caused by the tooling.
  12. Strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to quickly learn new technologies.
  13. Organized and structured approach to the work environment, with strong attention to details.
  14. Ability to perform in a proactive mode, and to plan and respond accordingly.

PHYSICAL REQUIIREMENTS:

  • Movement: Standing for up to 8 hours, easily able to walk short distances up to 1000 feet, reasonably sitting and bending as required. 
  • Lifting: Carrying, pushing, and pulling carts/packages within the factory up to 30 lbs. 
  • Hand-eye coordination: Using hands to feel, handle, or finger objects, or to reach with arms 
  • Vision: Being able to see and respond to dangerous situations, close visual acuity to perform computer-based work, reading drawings, inspecting parts. 
  • Hearing: Being able to hear and respond to sounds 
  • Manual dexterity: Being able to move objects and assemble parts using limbs with good coordination, able to enter data into a computer using a keyboard. 
  • Balance: Being able to move safely within the factory and office areas  

Driving: Be able to drive to and from customer / supplier locations

Competency

  1. Requires a minimum of a 2-year degree in a Maintenance or Tooling field of study or equivalent work experience.
  2. Requires a minimum of 70% on testing of, Electrical, pneumatic/hydraulic, Mechanical, Welding/cutting, tooling, and Environmental.
  3. Requires a Crane operating license.
  4. Requires a Forklift operating license.
  5. Requires a minimum score of 70% on the Lock out – Tag out (LOTO) Test.
