Job Summary

The Center Clinical Director is a professional member of the multidisciplinary treatment team who provides clinical and administrative services in accordance with the community health center needs. They provide operational day to day leadership of the center.

Essential Job Functions

  • Supervise team members performing initial screening of walk-in cases.
  • Perform and/or perform psychosocial evaluations on patients upon admission as needed.
  • Design the initial and master treatment plan proposals following the recommendations of the multi-disciplinary treatment team as needed. 
  • Lead weekly team meetings. 
  • Discuss utilization and progress of all patients with the treatment team.
  • Documents the multi-disciplinary team conference report on each patient.
  • Provides clinical supervision to all team leaders and clinical staff.
  • Supervise all clinical staff members and activities, which include monitor groups, individual therapy, and charting to maintain the highest standard of quality and effectiveness.
  • Organize professional development and training in individual therapy, diagnosis and assessment, group therapy and charting/documentation.
  • Maintain records and documentation related to clinical staff.
  • Evaluate and appraise each member of the clinical staff team based on specific performance standards, in a timely basis.  
  • Communicate appropriate information from meetings, conferences and committees.
  • Work with the CEO to arrange professional staff coverage to meet the needs of the center.
  • Adhere to the philosophy, goals, and objectives. 
  • Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating professional and caring attitudes and behaviors toward co-workers, patients, and guests. 
  • Contribute to effective teamwork by combining skills and energies in a coordinated manner, keeping a positive interaction.
  • Establish and achieve realistic goals within the position.
  • Ensure and maintain the confidential nature of all patients and facility activities.
  • Implement plans for Performance Improvement.
  • Deliver direct patient services, such as primary therapist, performing individual and cover group therapist sessions, and documentation of each event, as needed.
  • Knowledge of administrative, personnel and clinical policies and procedures, and ability to comply and communicate these clearly and accurately to staff.
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures; ability to communicate these clearly and accurately to staff.
  • Ensure that clinical staff meets educational/licensure requirements.
  • Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility to changes in the work environment.
  • Provide a safe, therapeutic environment for staff and patients.
  • Initiate appropriate counseling and disciplinary action for infraction of policy in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate the impact of therapeutic interventions upon the therapeutic milieu.
  • Assists in formulating standards for patient care.
  • Evaluates patient care weekly by reviewing clinical documentation in the patient's record.
  • Supervise all clinical activities, assuring comfort and safety of the patients.
  • Ensure accurate, timely documentation of patient care.
  • Participate in the formulation and implementation of patient treatment plans.
  • Assign duties to staff according to strengths and limitations.  
  • Will Supervise activities of front  operations and manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.

Required Education

  • Graduate from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in psychology, Social Work, or Counseling.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of five years professional/clinical experience in the field of mental health social work of which a minimum of one year should pertain to a behavioral health setting.

Required Licenses and Certifications

One of the following Licenses:

  • LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker)
  • LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist)
  • LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor)

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to work as a team member and have management, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions and be flexible in relation to department needs.
  • Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid guidelines for community mental health centers.
  •  Demonstrates Proficiency in Verbal and Written Communication Skills.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal Statutes Regarding Patient Confidentiality Laws.
  • Knowledge of Drug-Free Workplace Policies.
  • Knowledge of Workplace Violence.
  • Knowledge of Corporate Integrity and Compliance Program.
  • Knowledge of current utilized technology.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to work standing up, walk, use hands to operate tools and equipment and must be able to exert regularly up to 10 pounds of force, frequently exert 30 pounds of force and occasionally exert 50 pounds of force to constantly perform the essential job functions. The employee will be frequently required to reach with hands and arms, bend, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, and pull. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Environmental Conditions

Position requires work in a temperature-controlled environment; 100% of the time spent indoors.
