Title: Documentation (Engineering) Specialist
Dept: Engineering
Reports to: Automation Manager
Status: Non-Exempt
Position Summary:
The Documentation Specialist supports engineering with system turnover package content creation and various data entry and clerical projects.
Essential Functions:
· Create component and system documentation turn over packages.
· Work with engineers to ensure documentation content validity and that project deadlines are met.
· Collaborate with manufacturing and quality to process weld videos and documentation paperwork.
· Request production documentation from vendors, manufacturing and regulatory documents, raw material and product C&A, analytical document certificates and Safety Data Sheets.
· Support Engineering with projects schedules and documentation control.
· Develop Standard Operating Procedures/Standard Work Process sheets for internal use to ensure consistent workflows for the documentation department.
· Ability to review Production and Quality Control Inspection documentation.
· Collect and maintain files of the latest revision level documentation necessary to define finished good product specifications.
· Timely preparation and distribution to all appropriate uses of the latest level documentation, such as document and change control requests.
· Ensure that obsolete documentation is removed from distribution.
· Ensure received files from outside sources are forwarded to appropriate internal party in a timely manner.
· Support change control, material reviews, complaint/program/investigations, CAPA program, SOP program, labeling, new product development documentation, out of specification disposition, finished product specifications
· Meets production schedules, productivity goals, and quality standards.
· Perform all other job responsibilities as assigned by Manager.
Knowledge / Skills / Expertise:
· Associates degree in business administration or similar is required. Additional years of education and experience may be substituted for each other, as determined by Human Resources.
· A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role is desired.
· Possess an advanced level of computer skills with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint). This includes the ability to apply advanced formatting to MS Word documents, to build Excel spreadsheets.
· Above average typing, spelling, grammar, word and excel skills.
· Ability to adapt to new technology.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
· Excellent customer acumen and ability to communicate with technical and non-technical people.
· Ability to work within a cross functional team is essential.
· Detail oriented, independent thinking, self-starting, motivated.
· Must be able to handle multiple tasks/projects and manage priorities accordingly.
Environmental Conditions:
· Humidity level may be elevated during summer months in the manufacturing areas.
· Exposure to certain contaminants in manufacturing areas, at times.
· Exposure to loud noise levels in manufacturing areas, at times.
Physical Demands:
· While performing the duties of the job, the employee must be able to use a keyboard, calculator and telephone. They are regularly required to stand or walk, sit, talk, hear, and use hands to finger, grasp, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, lift (10lbs) and have the ability to adjust vision for close vision work.
