What are the responsibilities and job description for the CDL Class A Driver Part Time position at SANGREGORY CARTAGE INC?
We are looking for an experienced part-time truck driver to support our supply chain logistics operations by safely and efficiently transporting freight (Monday–Friday).
Responsibilities
- Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants, retail locations, and distribution centers
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and safety concerns and perform basic preventative maintenance
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
- Document and log work/rest periods and miles driven, and retain fuel/toll receipts
- Comply with all applicable truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break requirements) as well as company policies and procedures
- Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions
- Collect and verify delivery instructions
- Report defects, accidents, or violations as required
Skills
- Proven work experience as a truck driver
- Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB, etc.)
- Ability to drive as scheduled Monday–Friday and travel as needed
- Strong knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
- Clean driving record with no recent moving or driving violations
- Ability to adapt and respond to unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.)
- Valid commercial truck driving license
