Our small, but growing, agency is looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic, and outgoing individual to join our exceptional team of outcome-oriented professionals to manage a group home for individuals who have intellectual/developmental disabilities. We are currently in need of a Group Home Manager, with 4 years of experience supervising a diverse team of Group Home Managers (GHNM) in Glendale and Phoenix. The Manager must be flexible with their availability to work and also be on-call as needed.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Overseeing GHMs and the group homes they oversee ensuring quality services, health and safety of the individuals we serve, and ongoing training and support for staff. Manage the implementation of program planning; monitor delivery of services and supports; ensure services are consistent, engaging, and relevant to the individuals served. This is a critical role in ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, consistent practices in staffing, hiring and training and successful management of program finances.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Understand DDD Licensing Rules and Regulations
• Understand staffing schedules and ratios
• Ability to write habilitation and behavior programs
• Ability to work as a team and influence team members to work collaboratively towards a common goal.
• Ability to work with members who exhibit behavioral problems while maintaining a calm and positive demeanor.
• Knowledge of medications, uses, and their side effects, especially of psychotropic medications.
• Ability to protect client's rights and advocate for the members.
• Skill in providing treatment that promotes the members’ dignity, individuality, self-determination, independence, and positive choices.
• Knowledge of, and skill in demonstrating, cultural competency and diversity appreciation for members and fellow staff.
• Ability to, and skill in, recognizing, preventing, and responding appropriately to behavioral situations.
• Knowledge, skills, and abilities in managing, de-escalating, and preventing crisis situations and in trauma-informed care.
Qualifications:Qualifications:
• Have reliable transportation and ability to commute to the group homes, located in Glendale and Phoenix. (Required)
• Fluently speak, type, accurately write, and 100% understand the English language. (Required)
• Hold or be able to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card from AZ DPS. (Required)
• Hold, or be able to obtain, the following certifications: CPR/1st Aid, Article 9, and Prevention & Support. (Required)
• Have a minimum of 4 years' experience working as a supervisor, with the DD population. (Preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree. (Preferred)
• Be at least twenty-one (21) years of age. (Required)
• Have and maintain a valid AZ driver license and be able to provide a 36-month clean motor vehicle report. Basic Qualifications for our Direct Care Professionals include the below:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 18 years of age or older
- Six months of experience in human services preferred
- Valid Driver's licensed in good standing
- Successful clearance of background checks
- A reliable, responsible attitude
- A compassionate approach and a commitment to quality in everything you do
- Ability to obtain/maintain a valid Driver's License
- Proficient with the English language: written and verbal
- interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form
- Must be able to frequently lift/move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move more than 100 pounds
- Ability to complete training programs and successfully pass associated tests
- Ability to obtain a Level 1 Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and pass a background check as required by state and federal regulations

- As a Caregiver / Direct Care Professional you are a mandatory reporter. If you suspect any type of abuse or neglect; you will contact the appropriate authorities, DCS/APS, and your direct supervisor.
