SanegeneBio is currently seeking a Sr. Research Associate/Associate Scientist:
We are seeking a motivated Sr. Research Associate/Associate Scientist (title dependent on prior experience and capabilities) to join our Discovery Biology team based at our Woburn R&D site. This laboratory-based role will support in vivo pharmacology and mechanistic studies to advance our oligonucleotide therapeutics programs, working closely with cross-functional teams. This individual will support research to investigate innovative drug delivery approaches, including novel ligand/receptor approaches to achieve tissue-selective pharmacology. This is an excellent opportunity to build hands-on expertise in a structured research environment while contributing to ongoing projects.
Requirements:
- Perform and/or support complex and time-sensitive laboratory tasks under the supervision of our biology leaders; this includes in vitro assays, in vivo studies and molecular endpoints to evaluate our experimental therapeutics.
- Carefully perform laboratory work according to SOPs and protocols; participate in protocol generation and maintenance. Support generation of detailed study reports and maintain research records in an electronic notebook system according to company documentation policy.
- Perform molecular and cellular biology assays, including but not limited to nucleic acid extraction, qPCR, ELISA, and western blot.
- Implement and/or optimize analytical methods as required by project plans.
- Complete experimental tasks within timelines; accurately record, analyze, and organize experimental data.
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Actively participate in project meetings by presenting experimental results and study proposals.
Qualifications:
- BS or MS in biology, pharmacology, or related field.
- 3-5 years relevant biopharma industry experience
- Technical expertise in subset of the following methodologies: qPCR, nucleic acid isolation, western blot, ELISA, plate-based assays, in vivo disease modeling, immunohistochemistry etc., microscopy.
- Hands-on experience with rodent pharmacology. Animal handling experience including dosing and tissue sampling methods required. Familiarity with IACUC and research animal compliance framework.
- Ability to independently read scientific literature and generate experimental ideas.
- Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills; ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment. Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills, uncompromising in research ethics
