Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled CMA to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and medical office operations, demonstrating the ability to work effectively in various healthcare settings. Sandy Shores Medical Center and Urgent care operates two office one in Beulaville and one in Surf City. The ideal candidate would rotate every other week between the two offices.
Hours
Beulaville
- Monday through Thursday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- Friday 8:00 AM - 2 PM
Surf City
- Monday through Thursday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- Friday 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM
**Paid for 40hours each week**
Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Perform routine clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, administering injections, and conducting basic laboratory tests.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Prepare patients for examinations, including obtaining medical histories and performing intake assessments.
- Manage appointment scheduling, patient follow-ups, and coordination of care.
- Administer medications.
- Support patients with activities of daily living and provide education on health management.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to infection control protocols.
Skills
Candidates should possess a variety of skills that enhance their ability to perform effectively in this role, including but not limited to:
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Nextgen Office.
- Knowledge of ICD-10 coding for accurate medical documentation.
- Familiarity with triage processes and working with diverse populations including those with developmental disabilities or Alzheimer’s disease.
- Skills in patient assessment, vital sign monitoring, venipuncture, phlebotomy, and specimen collection/processing.
- Understanding of basic life support (BLS) protocols and emergency procedures.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients and healthcare teams.
