Automotive Service Technician Job Responsibilities
Technicians with good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sought. They are well-versed in complex mechanical or electronic systems of vehicles and have excellent problem-solving abilities. They must also be good communicators to provide results to advisory staff.
- Inspecting vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately.
- Inspecting vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain and upgrade.
- Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.) aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity.
- Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks).
- Keep logs for conditions, causes and remedies on repair order hard copies.
Automotive Service Technician Job Requirements
- Proven experience as Automotive Service Technician (Ford Lincoln experience preferred but not necessary).
- Well rounded knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic diagnostic systems and methods.
- Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.
- Able physical condition with high school diploma is preferred; Vocational certification and / or ASE certs are a definite plus.
- Must have a clean driving record.
- Must be able to be on your feet majority of the work day.
