What are the responsibilities and job description for the On Call Overnight Delivery Driver position at Sandy's Donuts & Coffee Shop?
While the rest of West Fargo is dreaming about their morning maple long johns, you'll be the quiet hero making sure those donuts actually arrive. This is a role for the night owl who prefers empty highways, a good playlist, and the satisfaction of a delivery done right before sunrise. If you treat punctuality as a personal creed and consider fresh donuts a sacred cargo, keep reading.
What You'll Be Doing
As an on call overnight driver, you keep the doughnut supply chain humming during the hours most people are asleep. You'll be contacted as needed, so flexibility and reliability are the twin pillars of this job. A dependable crew is exactly why a Retention Bonus incentive exists here.
- Transport freshly prepared donuts, coffee, and related products between locations and to customers on scheduled overnight routes.
- Load and unload product carefully, keeping everything intact, fresh, and presentation-ready.
- Respond promptly when called in, confirming availability and route details.
- Perform basic pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks and report any issues.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, logs, and have strong attention to detail.
- Follow safe driving practices and all traffic laws, especially in winter conditions.
- Communicate clearly with the shop team about delays, shortages, or route changes.
Why This Role Rewards Staying Power
Overnight work is a rhythm, not everyone's cup of coffee, and we value drivers who stick with it. Consistency behind the wheel keeps our shelves stocked and our customers happy, which is why a Retention Bonus structure recognizes those who commit for the long haul. The more reliable your run, the more valuable you become to the whole operation.
What We're Looking For
- A valid, insurable driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Comfort working overnight and on-call hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to lift and carry product boxes safely and repeatedly.
- Strong time management and a near-religious devotion to being on time.
- Ability to learn routes quickly.
- Reliable communication so we can reach you when a run comes up.
- A friendly, professional manner when interacting with staff and customers.
Dependability is the whole ballgame here, and a Retention Bonus approach is our way of saying we notice. Drivers who show up shift after shift find a Retention Bonus waiting as a genuine thank-you. If you want a role where loyalty pays, a Retention Bonus program makes this one worth considering.
