Duties
- Assist lead teachers in planning and executing engaging lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, and social-emotional skills.
- Support classroom management by helping maintain a safe, organized, and stimulating environment conducive to learning and exploration.
- Provide individualized attention and support to children, including those with special needs or disabilities such as autism or other developmental challenges.
- Help facilitate activities that promote childhood development, including toddler care, Montessori methods, or other educational philosophies.
- Collaborate with teachers to monitor student progress, document observations, and contribute to assessments of each child's growth.
- Support behavior management strategies to encourage positive social interactions and emotional regulation among students.
- Assist with classroom routines such as snack time, nap time, diapering or potty training, and transitions to ensure smooth daily operations.
Requirements
This position does require a CDA (child development Associate) or be working towards one
- Prior experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, private school settings, or similar educational environments.
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and curriculum development techniques.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members.
- Familiarity with classroom management assistance tools and techniques.
- Experience working with individuals with autism or disabilities is highly desirable.
- Technical proficiency in educational software or tools used for lesson planning or student tracking is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team of educators and support staff.
